Our Engineers and Their Gas Work Categories

The attending engineer must hold current qualifications for the particular gas work being carried out. Our four engineers’ relevant categories are listed by individual licence number below. These are separate from the business registration number above.

01

Engineer licence 6078380

Central heating boilers; gas cookers and range cookers; gas fires and space heaters; water heaters; gas pipework.

02

Engineer licence 6078379

Central heating boilers; gas cookers and range cookers; gas fires and space heaters; water heaters; gas pipework.

03

Engineer licence 6078378

Central heating boilers; gas cookers and range cookers; gas fires and space heaters; water heaters; gas pipework.

04

Engineer licence 6078377

Central heating boilers; gas cookers and range cookers; water heaters; gas pipework.

These categories distinguish boiler work from cooking appliances, fires, water heaters and the pipes supplying gas. For a cooker, hob or range cooker enquiry, tell us the appliance type and required work so the relevant scope can be checked. Boiler qualifications alone do not establish competence for cooker or gas fire work, and the category lists differ between engineers.

ID and qualification validity dates: To confirm: current engineer ID and category expiry dates.

When These Registration Details Were Checked

The date of the registration and category check is To confirm: actual registration and engineer-category verification date. A dated check records the position at that time; it does not replace checking the attending engineer’s current details before work begins. If you notice a discrepancy, call 020 3740 6785 and explain which detail needs checking.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Do I Check the Engineer Servicing My Boiler Is Actually Gas Safe Registered?

Check the attending engineer’s current Gas Safe ID and confirm their registration and relevant boiler qualifications with Gas Safe Register. Match the person to the photograph and identity details, then check validity and work categories. The business registration number and individual engineer’s licence number identify different records. A logo on a website does not establish the attending person’s qualifications.

What Happens if the Engineer Finds a Fault During the Service?

The next action depends on the engineer’s assessment of the fault and its safety implications. An appliance identified as unsafe must not be used until made safe. Ask what the finding means and what further work is proposed before agreeing to it. Any repair depends on the diagnosis and relevant qualifications; finding a fault does not mean it can be repaired during that visit.

Can I Open the Boiler Casing Before the Engineer Arrives?

No, never open the boiler casing or work on gas components yourself. Leave inspection and repair inside the appliance to a suitably qualified Gas Safe registered engineer. You can describe the symptoms and note any fault code visible on the display without removing covers or disturbing the appliance.
